Best Security Camera

Arlo Ultra

My experience with the Arlo Ultra demonstrated that this camera is well worth the money. While it’s more expensive compared to others on the market, you get a lot for the price. Also, the Smart Premier plan is affordable and good enough for the average homeowner. But, what I really like about the Arlo Ultra is that there are no wires to deal with. Simply place the camera where you want it, and charge it every few months.

The camera is completely weatherproof and picks up even the smallest details thanks to 4K video recording and streaming. The auto-zoom, motion tracking and integrated spotlight are just icing on the cake. You even get night vision without the spotlight. While there are plenty of cheaper home security cameras on the market, it’s worth paying a little extra to enjoy all of these features.

Best Indoor Security Camera

Wyze Cam V2

Wyze Labs made some improvements to the original Wyze Cam and these upgrades resulted in the Wyze Cam V2. These improvements include enhanced audio capabilities, motion tracking, and a (CMOS) image sensor that’s more powerful. The Wyze Cam V2 is also one of the smallest home security cameras on the market today.

The Wyze Cam V2 is a star performer. Its night vision video is sharp, remains well lit from around 25 feet. The 1080p daytime video also shows great details with well-saturated colors. One tiny flaw is a tad of barrel distortion, while it’s barely noticeable, it’s something worth mentioning. Motion tracking, sound detection, and motion detection all work very well. As soon as one of the sensors is triggered, you will get a push notification.

Best Google Assistant Camera

Nest IQ Cam Indoor
Nest cam IQ

The Google Nest Cam IQ is an indoor camera that plugs into a mains socket to watch your home while you are away. When it detects motion or sound the Nest Cam IQ will notify you. You can also schedule it to switch on or off at different times and with a subscription to Nest Aware, you can store and access all your videos in the cloud and utilize familiar face detection.

You can use the Google Assistant with the Nest Cam IQ and it is very easy to set up or turn off if you no longer want to use it. When it is set up and turned on, you can use the “Hey or Ok Google” hot words and then send your request. When the Google Assistant is activated, the Nest Cam IQ’s blue LED ring will light up.

Best Outdoor Security Camera

Arlo Pro 3
Arlo Pro 3 Kit
Photo cred: Arlo

The Arlo Pro 3 is an upgrade to the Arlo Pro 2 camera promising better video quality in bright or dark areas. It boosts image resolution much like the Arlo Pro 2’s 1080p only with an improvement making this version more vibrant and sharper and it supports a higher dynamic range (HDR). Moreover, its field of view is 160-degree, which is not as wide as the Arlo Ultra K’s 180-degree view. However, it is a step up from its predecessor that had a 130-degree angle.

Some features were taken from the Arlo Ultra 4K, such as an integrated spotlight that supports night vision in color and noise-canceling two-way audio.

One benefit of the Arlo Pro 3 is the cool magnetic charging method that delivers up to six months of battery life between charges.

It is a PTZ (pan/tilt/zoom) camera with 360-degree pan room coverage and a 93-degree vertical tilt. It has an 8x digital zoom with a 120-degree field of view. There is no mounting hardware but there is a built-in screw-hole on the base in case you choose to mount it instead of having it sit on a flat surface for which it is more suited. There is also, a micro SD slot under the camera for an SD card to support local storage of up to 32 GB.

Logitech Circle 2

It has never been so cheap or easy to watch your property as it is now with the Logitech Circle 2. You no longer have to call someone to install an old expensive bulky CCTV camera in your home for security. All you will need now is an IP security camera and an iOS or Android app that you can download on your smartphone to control it. Logitech Circle 2 is one of the latest technologies to join the lineup of IP security cameras. This new unit is similar to the first Circle device only with a few upgrades and improvements that include weatherproofing for outdoor use and longer battery life.

It looks like the Google-owned Nest has some stiff competition with the Logitech Circle 2 as this smart camera has many nice features, such as night vision, high-definition recording, two-way audio, and more without having to pay for additional subscriptions. This device also has its good looks going for it, not to mention how easy it is to both set up and use.

Arlo Pro 2

The Arlo Pro 2 is two outdoor wireless security cameras that do not require an AC outlet to work. The kit costs around $480 and comes with two rechargeable outdoor wireless cameras and a base station that connects to a Wi-Fi router. These battery-powered security cameras are designed for outdoor use, as they are weatherproof and can go as far as your network will allow. The Arlo Pro 2 is an updated version of its predecessors the Arlo and the Arlo Pro, both of which offer a 720 HD low-resolution video. This newer version has improved responsive and versatile cameras that deliver a much more solid view at 1080p HD live streaming and come complete with seven free days of event-based support and cloud storage.
