Nanoleaf Rhythm Edition Smarter Kit

Do you want to change the feel and mood of your room on command with high-quality, smart lighting panels? Do you want voice reactive, sound receptive, and interactively controlled lighting panels? Are you looking to create customizable lighting scenes that bounce, jump and dance with the music bass? If so, you are in the right place. We are going to review one of the best lighting panels available on the market – the popular Nanoleaf Rhythm Edition Lighting panels.

Nanoleaf Rhythm Edition Light Panels, previously known as Nanoleaf Aurora, are triangular light panels, which you can connect in a wide range of customizable ways. As a result, you get a customized and personal lighting experience that fits your own personal style and lighting mood. The Nanoleaf Rhythm Edition light panels easily connect on any side allowing you to create a wide range of different patterns according to your needs or tastes.

The Nanoleaf Rhythm Edition standard kit comes with 9 panels but you can purchase multiple expansion packs in case you need extra panels if you want to create larger patterns. It comes with a Nanoleaf drawer, which is a configuration tool that gives you different suggestions on shapes and designs. You can also use the Augmented Reality Layout Assistant, which is an incredible feature of the Nanoleaf drawer app. This feature enables you to point your smartphone at the QR code on the wall in order to get a pattern painted – visualizing the designs before you start setting the panels. Note, you’ll need a printer to use this feature.

Features of Nanoleaf Rhythm Edition Lighting Panels

Rhythm Module

Unlike the previous models, Nanoleaf Rhythm lighting panels come with a small device known as a Rhythm Module, which can be slotted in any free slot – allowing the light panels to react to sounds accordingly. You can also change or modify special Rhythm scenes in the smartphone app so you can create a lively, vibrant room with changing patterns and colors.

The Rhythm module is based on Artificial Intelligence technology, which is highly receptive to the background music or sound. So when you play a song, the bass can create great patterns on your room’s wall. Similarly, the rhythm module can be connected directly to an audio source through a 3.5mm cable which creates a more responsive feel.

Pack of 9 Panels

Nanoleaf Rhythm comes with a pack of 9 panels, which are triangular in shape and made from a lightweight plastic material. The triangular shape of the panels allows the user to create some beautiful designs, which is a big change for older lighting kits which came with square-shaped panels.

You can connect panels by simply sliding the linkers into small slots. In the same fashion, slide another panel onto the first one to connect them both. If you want your design to be on multiple walls the company offers flexible type linkers, which are sold separately. The flexible linkers allow the user to install the light panels on the wall, which can also be crept upward and onto the ceiling or an adjacent wall.

Nanoleaf Remote

The Nanoleaf Remote is a 12-sided remote, which allows you to activate a specific scene quickly by turning it around. Twisting the remote around allows you to adjust the brightness. Nanoleaf Remote is powered by two AA batteries, which will light up with a specific color to activate a certain scene of your choice, before dimming down again.

The setup of the remote is different based on the type of device you use – for example, Android Q or iOS 12. The remote requires a home hub such as HomePod or Apple TV with iOS to get paired so that you can control the lights.

Customizable Scenes

When you use the Nanoleaf app the “Color” section allows you to change color schemes. At the same time, the rhythm tab facilitates you to assign different scenes, which react to the music or sound accordingly. The best thing we like about the Nanoleaf app is that it allows users to create their own unique scenes with endless possibilities. If you’re looking for some inspiration or pre-made scenes, you can download them from the community using the Nanoleaf App.

Nanoleaf App Features

Just like other smart products, Nanoleaf also comes with its own Android and iOS app. With this app, you can create/select basic scenes and gain access to the scenes created by the community and Nanoleaf. You can download thousands of different designs. Just preview the scene on your Nanoleaf Rhythm Edition smart kit – and if you like it, download and save it. The scene will not only be saved to the app but to the Nanoleaf Light Panels device itself.

Pros and Cons of Nanoleaf Rhythm Edition Smart Kit

The incredible features of Nanoleaf Rhythm Lighting Panels make it one of the best smart lighting panels on the market. They are easy-to-install and come with pre-set colors, scenes, and animations. The moment you plug and run it, you start enjoying the brilliance of scenes and different designs. Nanoleaf is highly compatible with Google Home, Alexa, and Siri. The connector unit also links to your Wi-Fi, which allows you to activate the lights via your Android or iOS app. While we highly recommend the Nanoleaf Rhythm lighting panels the main drawback is the price. We also recommend picking them up during a sale, which they typically have around major shopping events.

If you want to create a lively and vibrant room ambient with different patterns of lights and colors that dance to the background music, Nanoleaf Rhythm Edition is a must buy. The lights are highly customizable and you can control them with voice commands using Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Siri or through the Nanoleaf app (for iOS and Android).
